I'm so silly. An Adult woman who loves Rick Riordan's books. I can't wait until the next one.
I am a sucker for these books. I enjoy the characters that Rick Riordan has created (for the most part) and enjoy the world they inhabit. The House of Hades takes our group of 7 demigods and splits them in two. With Percy and Annabeth in one group, and the other 5 together in the other.
Both working to get to the House of Hades and the Doors of Death, I felt this book really had a lot of character development and growth. While those types of books can be slow, Riordan keeps things moving at his standard brisk pace (he knows well his audience). I think that is the main reason I enjoyed it as much as I did. While there certainly was conflict and battles to be fought, the most significant battles were the ones being fought inside each of the major characters. In the end, I came away finally liking Leo, and felt that Hazel, Piper, Jason and Frank (quite literally) had really grown as characters. Nico was fleshed out as well, though still remained and annoying emo kid (I think that is on purpose). Percy and Annabeth learn some about themselves, but even more about their relationship and each other.
Many of the realizations are painful, but they make the heroes seem more real, more authentic and less Mary Sue and Gary Stu than they have in some of the past books. I particularly liked seeing just how powerful Percy is, and how terrifying that can be.
Good read and I anxiously (along with my daughters) look forward to the 5th installment later this year. Now, if Riordan would just bring these characters and the world of the Kane Chronicles together, I would really be happy.
Muito bom. O Percy e a Annabeth no Tártaro, simplesmente muito bom. A tensão que se constroe lá e a fuga deles super emocionante. Dando um gancho incrível pro final da série. Combates emocionantes e plots muito bons.

I mean what the hell does Rick think? How can any one of us wait that long for the book to come out??? And of course he HAS to stop it where Percy and Annabeth falls off to Tartarus!!! Not fair at all.....

This is my favorite book in the series, just because of the extra level of depth that Riordan gives the characters as they go through more suffering than he's included in any of the previous books.
Age range: 10+
Younger readers may find it a little scary.
I liked this book, but for some reason I was thinking it would be the conclusion. It was not.

This series. Just wow. I keep thinking it can't get much better than the last one and then of course I'm proven wrong.
From start to finish, House of Hades is jam-packed FULL of action and danger. It's quest upon quest smack dab in the middle of their bigger quest
Loved leos story line in this but the others were quite boring. Percy and Annabeths got a big repetitive but still cool

No character deaths? Well no important character deaths. No one has died in this series which makes me less attached. All good series have a death that rips you apart. At this point at least 5 characters have to die in the final book to make up for everyone surviving the whole series

Kind of...meh. I mean, there were some good, funny moments, a couple of touching moments, but as a whole...
Random thoughts:
We get all seven POV's, which was good. (I guess.)
Do we really need a fight every POV switch, though?
I never liked Annabeth. Being inside her head makes me like her less and less. (We're not even getting into it. I refuse to.)
I need more Piper, Jason and Leo in my life. ... I also need Piper/Jason/Leo to be a thing.
I will be reading the final book, mostly because I've come this far and because I do want to read these in order and I am super hopeful for the Magnus Chase series as I kind of adored the Kane Chronicles. (Hopefully, getting away from the Greeks will help me.)
It's not that I didn't like it, it's that I don't care for most of the new characters. If I care about any. I was here for Percy, Annabeth and Nico so you can imagine I wasn't too interested in many of the POVs in this book.
Oh, this is marvellous. Everything I had hoped for and even more. Loved it.

Tengo esta teoría desde que empecé Heroes of Olympus, y es que no puedo quitarme de la cabeza que si Leo Valdez en realidad fuera una chica, esta historia sería mucho mejor.
Explicaría porqué Calixto no habría podido salir de la isla con los otros héroes, más allá de que los dioses se hubieran olvidado de ella
Además no sólo una chica, sino también una discapacidatada, o sea siendo hija de Hephaestus, sería una buena representación del dios. Sin contar que tendríamos una latina, discapacitada y queer. Porque así le daría un poco más de sentido al complejo de inferioridad que suele mostrar Leo.
La historia la dejaría tal y como está, lo que nos daría en un momento un “triángulo amoroso” bisexual.
Supongo que esto es lo que pasa cuando me intereso demasiado en una historia y empiezo a ponerme meta.

Muito bem escrito, com um enredo envolvente e a ordem de desenvolvimento dos fatos muito angustiante.
Rick Riordan consegue dividir bem os pontos de vista e as personalidades das personagens ao longo dos capítulos, deixando cada um dos sete um membro indispensável e único.
E Leo.

We are all TEAM LEO ! Que idéia sensacional de o par dele ser justamente ... uma pessoa que exigirá um sacrifício, que é um pouco fora da curva, como o próprio Leo. E é certeza que ele cumprirá a promessa. NÉ?!

The first two books in this series seemed much stronger stories and more entertaining. I had a really hard time getting into and getting through this one. I think part of the issue is related to character development, or lack thereof in this book... I'm sure I will still read the next book though. I still want to know what will happen to the characters.
