i'm not sure if this held up on its own or if the nostalgia played a large role, but i had a good time rereading it. stephanie meyer has a weird obsession with age gaps that are just bad enough to be uncomfortable and prioritizes romantic love over familial love at every turn, but other than that i thought this was a fun time. with a hopeful ending, too!
