I did actually laugh once or twice, but for the most part this book dragged for me. I thought the characters were confusing and confusing themselves.
The romance was fun though. I loved how they came together not just in attraction, but also in respect and being able to enjoy the quiet or simpler moments with one another. So, I really did like this couple and how the romance (mostly) happened, just not the posturing and everything that dragged it out.
I might read the next book since I do like Devlin and I want to know more about Val. We will see though.
