The Groomer

i loved the ides of these revenge story dealing with these sick people that believe they care about children but are molesters. i love the concept so much and the writing was done extremely well around the gore. personally in this story, being in this man's head took me out the story and is the only reason i'm not giving this 5 stars. the execution, the writing, and the care that was put in this story was phenomenal.
 

I attempted this book a few times and couldn't get past a couple of parts involving children being hurt. I don't love not being able to finish something and I figured with the good reviews, if I could get past the rough parts it would have an ending that redeems itself. I stand corrected

I spent the majority of this book glossing over words and trying to piece together what was happening without getting too many visually assaulting images in my head. I didn't necessarily consider myself as having a weak stomach before this, but this took the cake. I mean, it's nasty! An absolutely wretched sex scene

Story felt very cartoonish almost. Like a fearmongering story or something your parents would tell you when you were little to warn you about the internet predators rather than a story that makes horror out of pedophilia. 
With that title I was expecting a more disturbing story with nuance that this lacked, in my opinion. 

Relatively light on the gore and pretty long for an extreme horror.
