The Gladiator's Downfall

I went into this one not exactly sure what to expect. Honestly, I was surprised – in a good way– and was totally hooked on this book.
Most of it takes place in the gladiator keep where Mave is a slave and the Champion. She's a slave and the only female, so obviously things aren't going to be easy for her. There are many rape and abuse mentions, including attempted rape. There was one point where I thought I was going to have to stop reading – I was so involved with the characters and having them hurt or killed would be gutting. I was able to convince myself to continue on and I'm so glad I did.

Seriously, this is a great start to a series that promises adventure, action, a badass female, slow burn romances (it is a reverse harem where not all the harem is known at the beginning), and a plot that promises to be interesting. I'm looking forward to the next book!
