I'm conflicted on whether to give this a 3.75 or a 4 because while I DID really enjoy this and flew through it in one sitting, I don't think this is a book that I would reread. It was a good thriller, don't get me wrong; the short choppy chapters really worked to build suspense and I was on the edge of my seat for the climax. It just didn't give everything I wanted it to give.
I liked how we got an insight into Deanna's life as a camgirl; I don't know if it was accurate, but it was still interesting to read about nonetheless. I wish we would've focused more on the whole fantasizing-about-murder aspect of her than the camming since one aspect was more integral to the plot than the other, but it was fine.
That being said, the author made some choices that I didn't really agree with. Jeremy as a whole I didn't particularly like. He honestly gave me creepy vibes for the most part, especially with the entire scene where he pretty much breaks into her apartment. I REALLY don't like how that scene went and how they were playing it off to be hot when it really...was not.
That being said, I did like the ending. Everything got wrapped up pretty neatly, and I'm happy that Deanna got her hopeful ending even if I don't really like the guy she got it with.

So unique. I loved it. Deanna would like how convenient ordering things online is now days. This book was written in 2015, it's interesting to see how things have changed.
The discussions of mental health, sex definitions, and the character development was great and interesting.
This is an enjoyable and intriguing read but for me it was plainly okay. The premise is compelling, the writing is good, the characters are well developed and it's informative and well researched. I also like that this book is open to sex related stuff and talks about different mental illnesses. However, I find Deanna, the main character, as someone who has the desire to kill, to be unconvincing and unbelievable. I also didn't like Jeremy. I don't know what happened but he became the love interest all of a sudden and I'm not a fan of that. The story went to a different direction that I wasn't expecting at the second half of the book and the end became too predictable which hindered my enjoyment a little bit. Overall, its still very interesting and a fast paced book so I would still recommend this to anyone who likes erotic thriller/suspense.
I enjoyed this book. If you don't like reading sexy stuff, then this isn't going to be your cup of tea.
But, what I did enjoy was the strong female lead. She locks herself in her apartment to protect others from her killing urges. She does cyberporn and somehow gets involved in a kidnapping. Definitely holds your attention. Would recommend.
Holy CRAP!! This book was awesome but it is not for the faint of heart.
I was not sure what to think about this book at first. I listened to the audio version from Audible.com and after the three-minute preview I simply had to know more. What I got was far more than I bargained for every which way.
It really was like “Dexter” mixed with “50 Shades.” The sexual stuff is artful in its blunt force. Torre demystifies the profession of sex cam modeling and it quickly turned from erotica to normalcy. In its wake we are given a delightfully twisted character trying to solve a crime so dark I can't believe I didn't bump my shin as I sprinted toward the finish!
I can say no more without giving away the things you sturdy readers need to go get for yourselves.
I've had this sitting on my iPad for awhile now, and finally got around to giving it a go...
This was some seriously twisted fuckery of the mind I'll tell you. Deanna is batshit crazy, but you just can't help but like her. The plot was intense and captivating and kept me turning the pages. The secondary characters are well written and interesting. It's told in multiple POV, so you get a really well rounded understanding of where the story is going, and what the characters are feeling.
Plus, I learned a whole bunch about fetishes I never knew before, so it's educational all around. I'll be moving onto book two and can't wait to see what's in store for Deanna, Jeremy, Dr. Derek and Mike.
i LOVED it so much. it was so well paced, beautiful writing and great story. I can't wait to read the next two books.
