Almost scary, but not. Almost there, but just not for me.

This is a very sweet (but also pretty scary in places!) novel about a young girl and her ghost friend. It's set in Malaysia and covers topics such as family secrets, loss of a loved one and what happens when your best friend suddenly makes a new friend. It's written in a really charming almost fairy tale style.

I loved this. I loved it. It was so much of everything I needed right now. It was sweet and sad, but thrilling and adventurous and just so much more than I expected. It was beautiful.

absolutely wonderful and delightful, despite having the heavy subjects of death and ghostly hauntings. the ending really moved me (and if i wasn't so damn tired from grad school i'd probably be crying right now). MORE MG PLEASE AND THANK YOU HANNA ALKAF
