It started well, but I just can't excuse her using a slur with him constantly when she knows it is one. Like obviously she can tell he is different and sure after he calls her cruel she decides to stop, but it shouldn't have had to come to that. I really don't like her. So, while I want to know what happened to Gideon, I just don't want to continue reading about this main character.
