I usually enjoy Darcy Coates book, but I have read a few that I couldn't get into as much and this is one of them. Her writing is always wonderful and she can legitimately freak me out sometimes, but this one just fell a little short. I didn't get freaked out at all, and I feel like the ending left something to be desired.

Tara (15) & Kyle (12) go to stay with their grandparents after their mother was involved in a horrible car accident that left her in a coma. At first, their grandparents, (whom they've never met) are absolutely perfect. Both kids wonder why their mother never mentioned them, or why they never came to visit. Mysterious things start happening in the house, and after a particularly bad storm the phone line stops working, separating them from the outside world. The kids start unraveling secrets as the story goes on, and rather quickly uncover the truth.

This was a very quick read and the untold mysteries kept me interested. I just wanted more out of the ending. This wasn't a bad book, I just want to get scared when I read a horror story and this one just didn't do that for me.
