Amos Decker, David Baldacci's unique special agent, who suffered a head injury that resulted in giving him the gift of a remarkable memory together with a condition called synaesthesia, takes on another case in The Fix. Third in Baldacci's Memory Man Series. While not necessary to read it order, I would suggest it. Amos Decker is the Memory Man and The Fix shows his continued evolution into a fully functioning human being after a life shattering experience that is outlined in the first book. So the book is about that evolution as well as the mystery surrounding the murder and suicide of two seemingly unknown people on the streets of D.C. Baldacci's unfolding of the murder/suicide mystery is seductive and surprising. And watching the excruciating small steps Amos takes is rewarding since I can't help but root for him. A great read.
Another fine outing with Amos Decker. My only real complaint is that the plot started to get repetitive and the twists a little overdone. Otherwise, a solid four stars.
I really enjoyed this story, the series is getting better with each book in my opinion! I like that one of the characters from the last book who isn't in the FBI squad turned up in this book, that was a surprise.
