This was me after reading his book...and I'm an atheist. (lol)
GAAAH...this book was seriously amazeballs. This was not a surprise to me because this author's SICK FUX book remains one of my favorite dark and twisted books ever. I am leaving this review purposely vague because you really need to go into this one blind. It's twisted. It's dark. It's seriously f-cked up. You will need to watch some cute kitten videos after reading it (#Truth). This prologue is just a short (but info packed) taste of what is coming. It sets the series up perfectly, and I adored every minute.
Bring on Raphael...

You HAVE to read this first before you read the first book, or it wont make sense. There isn't a love story in this one. The main character of this book is Joseph/Gabriel. He and his brother are orphans at Holy Innocents Home for Children. Joseph is on his way to becoming a priest, whereas his brother, James/Michael has a deep, deep darkness within him. But Michael isn't the only one with darkness inside him. When Michael does something vile, he gets sent to Purgatory, a place that tortures and punishes their prisoners at the hands of their “Holiest” Priests. There are 5 other boys that are in purgatory too: Barachiel (Bara), Raphael, Selaphiel (Sela), Uriel, and Jegudiel(Diel). This novella was pretty short, I think I read it within like 2 or 3 hours? (& I had to do other things in between.) But, even though it was short, I think that it was a perfect introduction into the series. I'm a huge Hades Hangmen fan & for some reason I kept putting this series off. (Maybe because it wasn't motorcycle related! Ha!) Now, I'm so glad that I picked it up, I can't wait for the other books in the series to come out!
