In this alternate universe, Sept. 11 happened but not the way it happened in real life. Here the Iraq war was followed by war in Iran, a bio-engineered flu epidemic, and a series of other escalating acts of terrorism. Most western nations have become police states. Then what appears to be a small nuclear device (but isn't) is ignited at an airbase in Scotland and full-scale nuclear war seems on the verge of breaking out. James Travis and his daughter Roisin hate the United States. The father is a software engineer who secretly spies for France which has become very hostile to both the U.K. and the U.S.
