I really enjoyed this solid murder mystery. The setting and characters were all very interesting and the story kept me guessing until the end. This would be a good book to get a mystery lover out of a reading slump. It isn't overly long and the story is fast paced so the pages keep turning.
I got this book as part of a First to Read pre-publication copy. The twists and turns made it a quick read. The murder mystery during a drought in a small town in Australia with prodigal son themes made it a good book!
I really enjoyed this right from the very first page. The characters were well developed and by the end of the book I really felt that I knew them all. The mixing of the current events with those of twenty years ago was extremely well done. As I progressed through the book I could not put it down until I finished it. I thought that the atmosphere and desperation created by a country town in the midst of a drought was well conveyed. Overall a fantastic read that I highly recommend for mystery lovers.
