Jay L North's imagination has very, very, very deep and dark corners where the light never shines and this story is an excellent example of the dark, depraved and twisted, combined in one. Simon devises a plan to “help” his brother Liam stay in the pack. And his plan is the beginning of Liam's nightmare and the end of everything relatively normal in his life. It's really heavy on the non con and taboo elements story - intense, gritty, pitch black. The HEA is unconventional, more like a dub con to me. Liam's struggles to accept the repercussions of Simon's actions felt so real and heart breaking. The author has once again delivered one dark and captivating variation of “ If you go in the forest, you are on your own”.
