The Dead of Winter

I love Stuart MacBride, I really, really do. His books are always thrilling, tension fuelled, roller coaster rides packed with the darkest of humour.
The Dead of Winter is no exception. It's a bit bonkers to be honest, starting off as it does with the burial of a detective constable, who also happens to be narrating the opening pages. All becomes clearer, as the story progresses.
The Dead of Winter is a standalone, but there is mention of a character from the Logan MacRae series.
The Dead of Winter ticks all the right boxes for me. If you like your humour darker than dark, and your body count high, this one's for you.
