Even better than it's predecessor. A tight plot that comes together in a pretty surprising way. I never knew about the political side of Julia's adulteries.
Advanced reading copy from Netgalley:
“The Daughters of Palatine Hill” focuses on Ancient Rome from the female perspective -Livia, the wife of Caesar Augustus, his daughter, Julia and Cleopatra Selene, the orphan daughter of Cleopatra and Marc Anthony. I have always enjoyed learning about ancient Rome so I was immediately interested in it.
I found the novel to be a page turner. I stayed up late reading it and couldn't put it down throughout the day. I think anyone who enjoys character driven stories based in historical fact will love this novel.
This is the author's second book. I haven't read her first novel so this can be read as a stand alone. But I have plans to read her first novel since I enjoyed this so much.
