A Dark Highschool Bully Romance
***Trilogy Now Complete!***
This cruel king won’t stop until he breaks me.
Dutch Cross, lead singer of The Kings, is a monster.
Don’t let his amber eyes, chiseled jaw line, and crooning voice fool you.
He prowls the hallways of Redwood Prep like he owns every inch.
Brutal.
Untouchable.
Beast.
And when his golden eyes meet mine, I know I’m his next prey.
The monster wants me out of Redwood.
But the fancy private school is my last chance at a better life for my sister.
No one has ever dared to go against Dutch and his equally gorgeous brothers.
I’m honored to be the first.
See, the thing about kings and monsters is they always have a weakness.
And for Dutch, his weakness… is me.
He just doesn’t know it yet.

3.5 stars because once I picked this book up I didn't put it down. Seriously, I started after dinner and didn't even realize I was eventually reading in the dark.
And yet, do I really want to read on???? I have mixed feelings. Yes, it was a school setting but they rarely did homework, plots points were dropped out of nowhere, and so much didn't quite make sense. The poor girl is supposed to buy them lattes every morning and other random crap... how???
Why is she the one that needs to leave? Why not force another random student? Or heck force the school to make room for Sol?! Like the have money for everything but not to hire another teacher or whatever is impeding the addition of another student.
The Kings didn't think about how a random girl opened for them at a student showcase and they never see her again– they just see a different new girl. Yeah... totally...
The plot holes friends, the friggin' plot holes. The ridiculousness of EVERYTHING!
And yet, I was hooked. The bullying by them wasn't unforgivable. The tropes work well and I definitely giggled over a few scenes. I was waiting to see how Dutch would find out Cadence is the redhead he is obsessed with and I was NOT disappointed. The ending made me go OOHHHHH SHIT!!! I'm pumped for the next book!
So, here I am with book 2 downloaded, ready to go, and... now that I've had time to think I'm reluctant to continue the series. I honestly don't know if I can continue. I'm not even a huge fan of Dutch. I'm more a fan of Finn tbh, but ehhhhh.
