My review is for a physical copy of the book that I own.
I like that the main characters are British, i'm British so it's relatable.
We call people “Mate” in England when we don't like someone, or have a disagreement with anyone. It's a common phrase.
It's used in a friendly banter context as well.
The alcohol consumption emboldens both the men and makes them feel empowered, they want to punch/beat up the bartender, but they would probably get their arses kicked by the bartender
