First of all, I would like to thank the author for giving me a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

So this read was a mixed bag for me.

The concept of the story and world building were really interesting, I did like the different baronies having to face an army of evil monsters coming out of the earth and the whole concept of mythical knights being specialised in different areas. Also the writing was really good, and I enjoyed the authors voice.

Unfortunately this book felt too short and unfinished. The plot moved too quickly and the characters were not fleshed out. The twist while interesting in it self came out of nowhere and it didn't make sense at all. It's like like the author had great ideas but didn't take the right amount of time to develop and foreshadow.

The info dumps were certainly there, some I didn't mind especially since it's the first book of the series but those at the end to explain the twist did felt out of place.

Since it's the authors first book, I'm sure he'll be able to improve because there's some real potential for the next book !
