You know, I actually really found myself enjoying this book. While the writing was not superb, the ideas and people within the novel were moving. Sometimes it's important to take a step back from your own life and look at the true, harrowing life stories of others. This was one of those stories for me.I think one of the most interesting parts of this book is its connection to [b:A Long Way Gone: Memoirs of a Boy Soldier 43015 A Long Way Gone Memoirs of a Boy Soldier Ishmael Beah https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1524839125s/43015.jpg 825414]. I didn't even realize until close to the end of the book that I was looking at the same conflict through the lens of a different narrative. It was thrilling and exciting for me when I realized that I was seeing two different sides to the same story.I would, quite truly and honestly, recommend a lot of people to read this book. It is really, really good.
