The Big U

I am a huge fan of Stephenson but I was very disappointed with this early effort of his. This 30-year old out-of-print effort should not have been re-released. Might it be fair to say that he had yet to find the voice that now endows him with the ability to render scintillating prose and realistic dialogue?
