I am quite enjoying Dan Moren's Galactic Cold War Series. In this book, Simon Kovalic and his motley crew take on another mission against long odds. They need to retrieve a priceless ancient alien artifact that could change the future trajectory of human civilization. Opposing them are a powerful criminal organization and a special ops team from the Illyrican empire. Basically it is a heist job. The action is fast and furious. Think ‘Mission Impossible' in space, but with even more close scrapes and twists.
Good book. Solid 4 stars.
I intended to read finish up The Aleph Extraction over Memorial Day weekend, but then I decided I didn't really need allllllll that sleep the preceding Thursday night.
I've been enjoying Dan's characters since he introduced many of them in The Caledonian Gambit and it's fun seeing how the team and the universe have been fleshed out in the subsequent books. I was not disappointed to see the development continues through The Aleph Extraction.
Plus, it's a heist. In space. I mean, what's not to like?
