love this book! has good illustrations and story. i love to see raven in a different light from the show since she can seem like she doesnt have much personality.
*4.75. this comic pulled me out of my slump so automatic 3 stars. I had to get used to the main character having the same name as me but nonetheless it was still good. I also adore Maxine and Raven's friendship, literally so cute ❤️.
This is the first I have read about Raven. I haven't even watched the cartoons, but the book sounded interesting. I am glad I read it. This was a good introduction to Raven. I will definitely be reading more in this series.
I liked this. One thing that I liked was right away- Her mom dies and she looses her memory in a car crash...it's kinda cliche BUT when you see the car that struck them goes off unharmed really immediately puts you into a strange/eerie/mystery vibes, it's a nice spin. The story is more casual as Raven puts together her memory and starts to recognize her powers. Looking forward to reading Beast Boy...I feel this story can only get better and better! Lots of places to go!
Since watching Teen Titans back when I was a kid, I've always liked Raven. She's a superhero and saves people, but she's dark. She doesn't seem to follow the usual mold. When I saw that she was getting her own graphic novel, I was ecstatic. Truly, it almost held up to my hype.
It is a fun graphic novel that kept me hooked the entire time. I wasn't a huge fan of the amnesia portion, but I could get over it. There is teen angst, but it works well with the story and the age group. The conflict made sense and I just loved reading this book. I wish it was longer, only because I want more of Raven and I want to see what she'll do next.
The illustration in white, black, and dark blue was gorgeous I loved how red was also used sparingly.
I'm so excited for Beast Boy's story!!

~Check out all my reviews over on The Bent Bookworm!~ Teen Titans: Raven was fun and entertaining, even if you have next to zero knowledge of the world of Teen Titans. I've never seen any of the TV show/movie, and can count on one hand the number of comics I've read in general. I still thoroughly enjoyed this coming-of-age story for one of the main characters from Teen Titans. The plot is very basic, but it answers the story of how Raven came to be who she is and the awakening of her powers well enough. I would have liked a little more...personality, I suppose, in Raven. She seems a little flat, as the only two emotions she really seems to have are fear and anger. The ending also seems open-ended, perhaps for future books? The artwork is very atmospheric, staying almost entirely in shades of gray, black, purple, and white. The detail is quite good, and the font is easy enough to read (a plus for those of us with less than stellar eyesight). 3.5/5 stars. Another excellent contribution to the DC Ink lineup!Blog Twitter Bloglovin Instagram
