Not Much Substance
I know, I know. Asking for substance in a comic about a bald chick named Tank Girl who apparently is in love with an anthropomorphic kangaroo with a purportedly massive endowment? I must be insane.
But here's the thing: this issue is basically just an excuse to meta-brag about the comic's origins, complain about some industry stuff (including the movie and a plot where one character dies), and provide a “flashback” that's basically a mini comic in a much less aesthetically pleasing art style. That and a half-baked story about making new traditions (but jk she's not going to change at all) are all this issue has going for it. And that just isn't enough.
I vaguely recall thinking the movie was alright when I was younger, but I can't recall anything about it other than the visuals. Maybe it was always this meta and I've just grown out of the style. I don't know. What I do know is that this was mostly boring but the art for “the present day” was appealing.
