From New York Times bestselling author Mira Grant comes the second book in the terrifying Parasitology series.
The SymboGen-designed tapeworms were created to relieve humanity of disease and sickness. But the implants in the majority of the world's population began attacking their hosts, turning them into a ravenous horde.
Now those who do not appear to be afflicted are being gathered for quarantine as panic spreads, but Sal and her companions must discover how the tapeworms are taking over their hosts, what their eventual goal is, and how they can be stopped.

I wanted to like this series but between the plot, the zombies (yes zombies. it is acknowledged in this book that they are practically zombies), and an emotional disconnect from everything going on I just... did not like this.
Plus the writing. Good lord, repetition gone wrong. So many things explained again and again. Not even as a repeated event just multiple explanations. And then the hot warm dark ughhh.
I do love identity issues and humanity feels which is what this wants to be? But while I dont need like a character to enjoy a book, I do need to be invested somehow and I wasn't. I do like that Sal is “frail” but resourceful. The strong female character issue was not taken literally.
