Stop Them Dead

Stop Them Dead, the 19th book in the Roy Grace series, sees Grace and his team confront the murky world of illegal puppy farming and the importing of puppies from outside the UK, whilst investigating the murder of a farmer who tried to stop thieves stealing his puppies.
As a dog lover, I found this book quite dark. Set during the pandemic, it dealt with an issue that was rife throughout those turbulent times. The lengths that the criminal gangs in the book went to, to acquire puppies to sell on the black market, were disturbing. It made for riveting reading, nonetheless.
