This one is very sweet. The two MCs get together well before the halfway point, and the rest of the book shows their relationship deepening as they deal with their respective challenges (Mat is aphasic from a traumatic brain injury and can't read; Wyatt is blind with a smothering family and evil ex husband). There's a bit of drama because Mat was married to a woman and as far as the other Irons and Works guys know he's straight, but the realization and admission that he is bisexual doesn't lead to anything more than some good-natured ribbing. Mat is a sweetheart, Wyatt is a charming flirt, and the guys are all there to give them support and kick anyone's ass who tries to hurt them. I'm not sure if the series has gotten stronger along the way since [b:Free Hand 44752509 Free Hand (Irons and Works, #1) E.M. The books showcase strong male friendships, passion, humor, varying levels of angst and passion, and indisputable HEAs. I'll be sorry to come to an end of my binge read with [b:Scarification 48565478 Scarification (Irons and Works #6) E.M.
