This is one I should have just listened to my instincts about and left alone.
It is hard for me to review because I don't know how to describe this writing-style. It is one I know a lot of people like, but I can't get behind. It reminded me of magical realism books– which I know to stay away from. So, this is totally a personal feeling and I totally see why some people would really like this one.

I will say that the setting and the way the post-apocalypse elements are done felt really unique. Usually media plays right after the apocalypse, but some of the chapters took place 20 years past, so people are used to the world at this point and are ready to get back to work.
It is a bit dark, it is thought provoking, and I think would be a great book for a book club. It just isn't the type of book I generally enjoy reading. Perhaps at another time – if I was in a more open-minded or thoughtful mood I would have enjoyed it more.
