Me encanta esta autora. Con este último libro ha vuelto a tenerme atrapada desde la primera hasta la última página. Deseando que salga su nuevo libro!
Another interesting read. I really enjoy the way she writes. Neighborhood treachery and secrets is brilliantly portrayed in this fast paced and easy to read thriller.
Interesting characters but I felt like this was just a flimsy plot. At some point it just got really long winded and a little confusing for me with all the characters. And despite all that, it left me wondering ‘wait that's it?'
A solid little thriller. This author came highly recommended by someone who went through Lapena's entire writing catalog in a month, I can see why considering that once I started this book I simply did not put it down the pages just kept turning.
I did not guess who the killer was until the reveal and that's a pretty rare one for me so I have to give the author credit for that too.
An intriguing, easy listen but ultimately not one which will stand out in a few months.
Hmmm...It did keep me reading, but I still gave it a 2, I knew who did it WAY before the book told me. But, in case you don't know this already you will learn a few things. haha
1. Don't lie!
2. Don't cheat on your spouse.
3. You really don't know your neighbors and friends as much as you think you do.
4. Mom's want to protect their children more than anything, but I don't know any mom's this stupid!
5. You're going to get caught if you are this dumb.
6. If people are really this ignorant, then our human race will be wiped out soon.
A bit too much Desperate housewives for me - many villains, many possible twists, a victim who's almost a villain.
actual rating: 3.5 stars
pretty good build up, engaging, but repetitive and had an underwhelming ending
3.5 stars.
a pretty solid classic mystery! I thought who murdered Amanda became pretty obvious about halfway through the book which did bring down the rating for me a bit, but other than that I enjoyed it and LOVED the ambiguous ending.
After An Unwanted Guest', I was worried I wouldn't like any more books Shari would release. However, I loved the couple next door and a stranger in the house, so I decided to give this one a try.
OMG. I LOVED this book. It is as good as The Couple Next Door, and definitely better than A Stranger in the House.
I don't want to give too much away but it is definitely worth reading. I will say that I rightly figured out the culprit about two chapters before it was revealed, but that isn't because it was obvious, I just really took my time to think about it as logically as possible, and I'd been paying attention to absolutely everything that had been happening since the beginning of the book.
This is a great read for anyone that loves a great mystery novel!
