I was actually excited to hear about Posey's story but I feel disappointed with how Wylie's character was viewed more like sex object instead of a sexually positive woman. From the other books, I've noticed how there's a bit of a “male gaze” type of thing going on when it comes to the female characters. At first, I thought maybe it's because it's the guy's POV. But in this book, the “sexually positive” character didn't hit the mark because of how they were both written. I still like Wylie and, of course, Posey both as individual characters and as a couple but I also think that the author did not do Wylie's character any justice.
One good example of a sexually active/positive character would be the likes of Aly from Lights Out. Her being sexually active/positive is part of her character but her entire development did not completely or even majorly revolve around sex. It's just a part of her, along with the many other facets of her personality. Sex was still very much on the plot but it did not hinder her other qualities to develop in the story. For Wylie, I feel like the representation of her art lacks severely compared to her seduction of Posey. I could also say the same with Posey, we've known more about his great qualities in the past books compared to his own book.
