Look this isn't a bad book – and I'd even recommend it to some people, it just isn't for me. Had I not taken time away from it I'm sure I would have finished it, but the more I waited to get the back to it, the more I didn't want to. When I realized I already knew I wouldn't be continuing the series I knew it was time to put it to rest.

It is interesting: there are demons, mafia members, ancient artifacts, and some darker themes. There is a good story here and even the characters have a pull to them.
Unfortunately, I just felt separate from everything happening– I wasn't pulled into the story, which is an entirely personal wtf problem and not with the book.

If you are thinking about giving this book a try, I do think you should!
