One of the best books is one that leaves a mark on you long after you've closed the last page. And this one has definitely gathered countless emotions that cannot be forgotten. All the beautiful and the ugly, the rejection and the doubts, the fear and pain, the love and forgiveness, blend together in shards that cut so deep, they scar the soul for life but in the open gapping wound blossom the seeds of new hope and a chance of new life.
Someone like Devin - recovering addict - know how much in blood and flesh costs a chance like this, a thread of new life stretched so thin, it's almost transparent in its delicate fragility. For as long as he could remember, his life is running, hiding and learning the art of being invisible to be able to survive. Until one day that isn't enough and he has to jump blindly in the dark, put the last crumbs of trust in his best friend and believe that would be enough not to crash and burn.
And this is the story of Devin and Chase - like an ugly duckling turning into a breathtaking swan, their bond heals, develops and grows in strength and depth.
