A lovely read, from first to last page. Hard to put down, fascinating by every chapter. A great introspection into our humanity, including all our known past, present and some future visions. It answers some interesting questions about our big whys and hows. And the author has a global vision, he paints a very big picture, including all small details that give flavor to the narrative. I appreciated the author's angle upon things that often seem to be in contradiction. He always includes them in a greater context, proofing how some two apparently opposite entities can work together to a greater goal, and how they need each other to make a system work properly. Each step of the way, the author gives you both sides of the coin, both advantages and disadvantages, both pros and cons, both allies and enemies' stories, and rather lets you decide who or what is the right way. And this is what kept me devouring the pages.
This vision based more on co-dependency and collaboration instead of conflicts was refreshing and eye-opening. The book covers all our human sides, from social, to historical, to biological, political, cultural and so on. And I think this is what makes it a complete and coherent story.
Kind of early to say this, given that we're in February, but I'll go and say that it's the best book I've read this year. (So far)
