I liked the idea of the cybernetically enhanced race, and the descriptions of that, along with the character's major dilemma and the ending, were good. However, for a short story, there were a lot of other things thrown in that seemed kind of pointless (the unpleasant Luddite characters for example) and most of the characters are pretty two-dimensional.
