Paula Yoo's latest is a compelling, nuanced account of Los Angeles's 1992 uprising and its impact on its Korean and Black American communities.

I really enjoyed the is and it was super fascinating. I do think Yoo maybe left the LAPD off the hook and would have been interested id she pressed them a bit more. But overall, a great resource for teens wanting to learn more about the events.
A comprehensive overview of LA at the time with a personal touch. Sometimes it jumped around a bit too much for my taste, but I do think the included background of some of the people and families makes the whole story more readable.
