Rise of Empire

Excellent follow up to Theft of Swords! I felt more comfortable with the characters this time around, feeling like I knew them better than I did in the first book as they are put through one adventure after another and not all of them pleasant, but a whole lot of fun to read about. I really started to care for Royce and Arista in this one as we get a bit more into their personalities and the challenges they face bring out their true colors. The character of Amilia was also a welcome addition. This second volume in the Riyeria Revelations has everything that I enjoyed in the first volume and added to it by expanding the world, the characters and the stakes. Really, really enjoyed it all the way through!!
