I really enjoyed this one. I think the size was intimidating, but all in all I enjoyed the book.

I loved the different types of prodigies and their powers. I think some of these are even ones that are not seen or used often in books which made them seem even more special. Even the characters are totally enjoyable. My favorites are Queen Bee because she is so dramatic and awesome, Max because how could he not be, and (truth be told) Nova who while slightly annoying is also pretty badass when she is allowed to be.

There are a TON of characters, so the character guide in the front of the book is appreciated, even if it doesn't mention all of the characters, just the most important or mostly talked about ones. Even though the ones talked about often are the ones I'm least likely to forget (lol) but with the switching off between superhero alias and normal name can be confusing, so YAY character guide!

I loved the writing and I was hooked the whole time I was reading this. I don't know what it is about Marissa Meyer, but her writing just flows for me.

That all being said, this is an introduction book. :(

500 pages and I expected more things to happen, or more information to be gained. We do see choices being made and some things coming to light, but ultimately, I'm not sure how this book got to be 500 pages. I'm saying I didn't enjoy the length and reading everything and all the details about the world, but was all of it needed? I'm kinda on the edge of yes and no.

Also, Nova's reason for despising the Renegades is a bit weak for such a strong emotion. It is one of those reasons we can all see being dealt with easily in the future. Although, she makes really good points for a different type of life for her world which makes so much sense – yet, again, not reasons to hate them.

So, I'll be reading the next book FOR SURE! Hopefully the pub date doesn't get pushed back, because I AM excited to get my hands on it– I just also think I already can guess what will happen...
