A very well-done historically story (well, except treating yellow fever with quinine, which was funny, especially seeing what's going on lately with quinolones for the current pandemic) which treated both sides with dignity (though it was clear the author is strongly Yankee in sympathy, she didn't make all the Southerners unapologetically bad).
Having read this author's other books under her name of Beth White, I can say this story captures a similar flavor of the Coastal South and would appeal to a similar audience.
