Surprisingly I enjoyed this book more than the first one. The nonsensical elements, Alice's thoughts and curiosity could be seen more in this book than the first one. And I enjoyed it more because of that.
It's been quite a few years since I read Alice, and I had purchased Red Queen at the bookstore one night and just never got to it. I'm trying really hard to read some of these books I own.
Anyhoo, bless Henry and her ability to recap, because I never felt lost or behind on the Alice story as we jumped right back in.
I love a lot about this book. I love the little side stories, the missing children of the village and the giants who roam the forest and the flying machines from the city.
There isn't much about this story I didn't like. It was perhaps a bit repetitive. It was a great read on the beach.
