Summer

While I really like that Meg Cabot addressed the issue of teen sex in this book, and how she addressed it, I didn't love this book as much as All American Girl, the first book about Samantha Madison. Partway through the book some of the stylizations of Sam's voice began to grate on me - the overuse of the SAT vocab gimmick, and her general ZOMG!ness. By the end of the book the SAT vocab bits had eased up, as had Sam's freakouts, and I was enjoying it again. Still, I didn't love this book. It was okay, and if/when there's another Sam Madison book I'll pick it up, but this is maybe my least favorite Meg Cabot book so far.
