Radiance had been recommended to me about a million times – it's a fantasy romance, two of my favorite genres, and so people rightly assumed I would enjoy it. The relationship at the heart of this novel is so sweet, and so dear, that you immediately fall in love with the characters. Brishen and Ildiko are wonderful to each other. One is Kai – a non-human, monster-type race, and one is human. Both come from cultures that think the other is horrifying and ugly, but despite that, they are forced to marry.

It turns out to be a good match. We watch as they slowly fall in love with each other, and as their relationship blooms into something absolutely lovely.
