Queen Takes King

i dropped this for a very specific scene so im putting it under spoilers:

the scene where daire is literally on the ground SOBBING because shara almost killed aldrik and aldrik gets mad at him?? because he THOUGHT about stopping her and didnt even end up doing it? and then he BANS him from even sleeping next to shara as a punishment?? that was so needlessly callous and cruel and ruined the whole book for me. disappointing, since i liked the first book a lot, but i feel like this is setting a precedent for future actions and i dont want to run across another scene like this, so i'm dnfing here.
