I love everything about Dahlia Donovan's new mystery series “Motts Cold Case Mystery” kicking off with Poisoned Primrose. Pineapple aka Motts is just as unique as her name. She moves from London to a small town and into a house she inherited from her aunt. Motts hopes to find the comfort and quiet that she requires to make herself happy when within days of moving in she finds a body. Welcome to the neighborhood.

Motts then meets an assortment of characters that could have killed the body in the garden. Assisted by a great supporting cast of characters, Motts decides to look into the cold case.

The supporting cast gives us a look into Motts past as they include family members and an ex-girlfriend. We also get to see how Motts handles a potential new love interest while trying to keep from getting herself killed as she follows the clues.

There is plenty of intrigue and drama in Primrose. I love Motts. Donovan includes plenty of LGBTQ+ community as there is a lesbian couple and a gay couple, plus Motts is an asexual biromantic. The “Motts Cold Case Mystery” series is a keeper and one you want to add to your must be read list.
