Please Kill Me: The Uncensored Oral History of Punk

I enjoyed this read but man, rock stars are fucked up assholes.

I love oral histories and I thought that would carry me through, but I think more familiarity with the bands and band members is important.

One author was part of the early punk scene. Though this means great insight into specific parts of that world, it creates a myopic POV, and ultimately this was less a history of punk and more a history of punk in a specific geographic area. I think maybe oral histories work better when the author has slightly more distance from the interview subjects.
