Pete's Feelin' Alright
Pete the Cat never fails to bring a spark of joy with an edge of nostalgia into my life. This book in particular is about seeing the good in life and not letting bad circumstances ruin your entire day. A fitting choice for a quick pick-me-up before bed - and an excellent choice for children who tend to catastrophize everything. (Believe me: I'd be a much more well-adjusted adult, if only I'd been taught this lesson in my formative years.)
As always, the art is charming in its simplicity. Though... maybe simple isn't the right descriptor. It may not be elaborate, but there's a cat sitting atop an alligator using a saddle on one page, so... Yeah, not simple. But adorable all the same.
To quote a song I've loved since childhood: “Keep a mild groove on,” Pete. And thanks for the good vibes.
