Was hoping for something edgier, based on reviews. Finished only because I was mildly curious about whether the husband would ever turn up again.
It's been a long time since I stayed up late to finish a book, but I did tonight. The story is charming–I bet there's a movie to be made of this one–and the writing fresh. As a reader and writer, I loved the setting in a bookstore, and that the store is in Paris makes it all the better.
It has everything I love...books, relationships, Paris...and I liked it, but I didn't love it.
It started out fantastically.
That's really all I can say without telling you too much about the story.
I'm glad I read it. I'm just sad the plot didn't move in the direction that I like.
