Good god this book was long. The first two thirds of the book went by pretty fast for me. There was so much going on, so many questions to be answered. And then, they were and you were left with a third of the book to go.

Jonathan Randall & Jamie's prison encounter was unnecessary, Claire's cure for Jamie's horror strange and Jamie's recovery seemingly set in real time as the last third of the book felt like weeks.

I'm not sure if I'll read the rest of the series. Someone mentioned to me that the books just got longer as the series wore on. Longer? I don't mind long books, but please let there be a reason for it! As it is, I'm not really a historical romance reader, barely a romance reader so maybe someday, but probably not soon.
