Orange World and Other Stories

It's funny. I thought I had read all of Karen Russell's works. According to Goodreads, I have read none.
Hmm. Need to fix that.
Orange World is a smart, kooky story collection with some real winners in it. I am actually humbled by the size of Russell's imagination.
My favorites:
The Gondoliers, The Prospectors, and The Tornado Auction (which I did not immediately love, but am still thinking about days after reading it).

Absolute new favorite. The writing is so dang clever and every word has a purpose, speaks more than what you think one word can say. The speculative elements are so seamlessly weaved into each story, I don't think I have a favorite one because they're all equally enthralling.
