Thank you to Booksirens for sending me an advanced copy of the novel for a voluntarily review.
My actual rating is 3.5 stars. This book was slightly different than I thought it was going to be. I don't mind having mysteries with family drama in them, but for this one, it got a little bit too much for me. Aoife seems a bit naive at times, and then other times she knows what she is doing. The tension with Jason and Aoife also got a little repetitive after a while and I kept having to skim through some parts to get through the rest of the information. I felt that I could relate to Aoife in certain ways, but other than that I didn't really feel connected to any of the other characters. Once we got down to the end of the story and the revealing of the murderer, it felt a bit rushed and predictable in the last couple of chapters but most of the time I had no idea who it was going to be. I also thought it was interesting that it was set in Ireland since I have taken an English class that focused on Ireland and I felt that I could understand the circumstances with the characters and why they handled things the way they did. Overall, this one was a bit different than what I normally read and I would recommend it.
