The Couple at Number 9

A well-written mystery. A real page-turner! This was my first Claire Douglas novel and I'll be picking up more!

This one took me a bit. Frankly, it didn't hold my interest like I expect domestic thrillers to do. I found the main character to be annoying- a nervous nelly- with an eye rolling internal monologue. I wanted to know what was going on and I'm glad I finished it. Not sure I'll remember it in a year though.

It wasn't a bad book. The plot was good but the characters, I wasn't able to love any character and there wasn't enough character development as such. The book also felt slow paced and sometimes I felt there was too much unnecessary information which could have been cut short.
